Resources¶
Overview¶
The Resources folder contains assets that must be loaded dynamically by Snap Studio Pro at runtime or editor-time using Unity's Resources.Load(...) API.
These assets are intentionally placed here because they are discovered by name rather than through direct references.
Current Contents¶
SnapLogo¶
Used by various Snap Studio Pro windows and onboarding workflows, including welcome and setup experiences.
Loaded dynamically to avoid hard references between editor systems.
PostProcessResources¶
Required for Post-Processing Stack v2 (PPSv2) support when using the Built-in Render Pipeline.
Without this asset:
- PPSv2 camera layers cannot initialize correctly
- Built-in post-processing previews will fail
- Built-in volume workflows may not function as expected
This asset is only relevant when PPSv2 support is installed and enabled.
LayoutDefaults¶
Provides default window layout sizing values used when Snap Studio Pro initializes its editor interface.
Stores values such as:
- Left panel width
- Right panel width
- Bottom panel height
Why Resources Is Used¶
Unity's Resources.Load(...) API requires assets to exist somewhere inside a folder named Resources.
Snap Studio Pro uses this approach sparingly and only for assets that must be discovered dynamically during editor initialization.
Most editor assets should be referenced directly whenever possible.
Guidelines¶
Appropriate Content¶
Assets placed here should generally be:
- Editor configuration assets
- Dynamic setup resources
- Optional dependency resources
- Logos, icons, and startup assets
- Assets loaded via
Resources.Load(...)
Avoid¶
Do not place general-purpose scripts, editor utilities, or unrelated project assets in this folder.
If an asset is not loaded through Resources.Load(...), it likely belongs elsewhere in the project.
Notes¶
The Resources folder is intentionally small.
Assets should only be added here when dynamic loading is genuinely required.
