Core

Purpose

Owns the main Snap Studio Pro editor window and primary editor-shell orchestration systems.

This territory contains the PrefabPreviewWindow application shell, workspace tab routing, panel creation, layout orchestration, repaint coordination, and editor interaction flow.

Owns

  • Main editor window lifecycle
  • Workspace tab orchestration
  • Panel creation/wiring
  • Main editor layout coordination
  • Preview/editor repaint coordination
  • Window update loops
  • Main editor toolbar workflows
  • Main editor shell composition
  • Labs window management
  • Settings window management

Does NOT Own

  • Feature implementation
  • Rendering implementation
  • Capture execution
  • Preview rendering lifecycle ownership
  • Thumbnail rendering implementation
  • Export execution internals

Allowed Dependencies

Core may depend on:

  • Panels
  • Preview facades
  • Feature services/controllers
  • Infrastructure systems
  • Thumbnail infrastructure
  • Diagnostics/logging
  • Unity Editor window APIs

Core should avoid depending directly on:

  • rendering pipeline implementation systems
  • low-level rendering internals
  • deeply nested feature implementation details

Notes

Core is intentionally the composition-root territory for the editor application shell.

PrefabPreviewWindow is expected to: - coordinate panels - manage editor layout - route workspace tabs - own repaint/update coordination - wire editor systems together

This orchestration belongs here rather than being hidden behind reflection, dynamic discovery, or service-locator architecture.

The goal is explicit, inspectable editor composition.

Future Candidates

  • Keep PrefabPreviewWindow readable and regioned.
  • Continue extracting focused helpers when orchestration grows.
  • Maintain explicit lifecycle ownership.
  • Avoid hiding application-shell behaviour behind indirection layers.
