Camera

Purpose

Owns preview-facing camera coordination and camera fitting behaviour for the live preview environment.

This territory is responsible for applying camera settings and coordinating camera framing against preview prefabs while delegating actual rendering implementation to rendering and pipeline systems.

Owns

  • Preview camera setting application
  • Camera fitting coordination
  • Preview camera positioning workflows
  • Preview-facing camera orchestration

Does NOT Own

  • Rendering pipeline implementation
  • Render texture generation
  • Export capture workflows
  • Editor UI
  • Persistent camera presets
  • Camera input handling

Allowed Dependencies

Camera may depend on:

  • Preview.Scene
  • Feature camera settings/models
  • Rendering abstractions
  • Bounds utilities

Camera should avoid direct dependencies on panel UI or export orchestration systems.

Notes

This folder exists to separate preview camera workflows from rendering implementation details.

The Preview layer decides: - when cameras should fit - when settings should apply - which preview object is active

Rendering and pipeline systems decide: - how rendering actually occurs - how pipeline-specific behaviour is handled

The goal is to keep preview camera orchestration lightweight and predictable without collapsing rendering and workflow logic together.

Future Candidates

  • Keep camera fitting logic separate from preview scene lifecycle ownership.
  • Avoid allowing export-specific logic to drift into preview camera workflows.
  • Continue treating rendering implementation as a downstream concern.
