Capture¶
Purpose¶
Owns reusable capture-related editor UI sections shared across Snap Studio Pro panels.
This territory contains reusable directional capture controls and shared capture-facing UI helpers used by animation, static sprite, and export workflows.
The camera projection/orientation IMGUI controls (CameraUIUtils) live in Features/Camera — they depend on camera feature systems, and keeping them below the Panels layer lets Features panels use them without referencing Panels.
Owns¶
- Directional capture UI
- Shared camera framing helpers
- Shared directional snapping UI
- Shared capture-facing request helpers
Does NOT Own¶
- Capture execution
- Rendering implementation
- Export orchestration
- Preview scene lifecycle ownership
- Rendering pipeline implementation
Allowed Dependencies¶
Capture UI helpers may depend on:
- Camera feature systems
- Directional capture systems
- Preview facades
- Shared panel controls/styles
- Unity Editor IMGUI APIs
Capture UI helpers should avoid depending directly on:
- rendering implementation systems
- export execution systems
- pipeline-specific rendering internals
Notes¶
This folder exists to prevent duplication between: - animation capture workflows - static sprite workflows - directional export workflows
These classes are intentionally reusable UI coordinators rather than feature implementations.
Actual camera fitting, snapping, and capture execution remain delegated to feature systems.
Future Candidates¶
- Continue extracting reusable directional capture UI.
- Keep capture-facing UI helpers presentation-focused.
- Avoid embedding rendering or export execution behaviour into shared capture UI.
