Animation¶
Purpose¶
Owns animation-focused editor UI panels used for animation playback, directional capture, single-frame export, and batch animation export workflows.
This territory provides the user-facing animation tooling layer for Snap Studio Pro while delegating export execution, capture processing, and animation discovery logic to feature systems and controllers.
Owns¶
- Animation panel UI
- Playback controls
- Animation export UI workflows
- Animation preset UI
- Directional animation capture UI
- Root motion guidance UI
- Batch export configuration UI
- Export progress display
- User-facing animation workflow coordination
Does NOT Own¶
- Animation sampling implementation
- Capture execution
- Export processing internals
- Rendering implementation
- Preview scene lifecycle ownership
- GIF/spritesheet generation implementation
- Animation discovery implementation
Allowed Dependencies¶
Animation panels may depend on:
- Animation feature systems
- Capture/export services
- Directional capture systems
- Preview facades
- Shared panel helpers
- Infrastructure runners/progress systems
- Models/settings/presets
Animation panels should avoid depending directly on:
- rendering implementation systems
- pipeline-specific internals
- low-level texture processing systems
Notes¶
Animation panels are intentionally coordination-heavy because animation export workflows naturally combine: - playback - preview - export settings - directional capture - sprite sheet options - progress reporting
This is acceptable in UI territory.
Panels should coordinate user intent and build request objects, while export/capture implementation remains delegated to Features and controllers.
AnimationPlaybackPanel and AnimationBatchExportPanel are intentionally orchestration-facing editor panels rather than lightweight controls.
That complexity belongs here rather than being hidden inside rendering or export systems.
Future Candidates¶
- Continue isolating heavy export implementation from panel UI.
- Keep panels focused on user-facing workflow coordination.
- Maintain clear separation between playback UI and export execution.
- Continue using reusable request models for animation export workflows.
