DirectionalCapture

Purpose

Owns directional capture workflows, orientation logic, and directional camera/pivot coordination used by Snap Studio Pro.

This territory is responsible for snapping, distributing, and coordinating directional capture angles for animation, static sprite, and multi-angle export workflows.

Owns

  • Directional orientation workflows
  • Direction snapping
  • Direction count rules
  • Pivot recentering logic
  • Multi-angle distribution helpers
  • Directional camera transform helpers
  • Directional capture utility workflows

Does NOT Own

  • Export orchestration
  • Capture execution
  • Rendering implementation
  • Preview scene lifecycle ownership
  • Panel UI layout ownership
  • Animation export planning

Allowed Dependencies

DirectionalCapture may depend on:

  • Rendering helper systems
  • Preview-facing transforms
  • Unity scene/math APIs
  • Shared abstractions/contracts

DirectionalCapture should avoid depending on:

  • export orchestration systems
  • rendering implementation systems
  • panel lifecycle systems

Notes

This folder exists to centralize directional logic used across multiple production workflows.

DirectionalCapture owns: - how directions are interpreted - how pivots are recentered - how directional camera transforms are coordinated - how orientation presets behave

Animation.Export and Export systems own: - workflow orchestration - batch processing - export lifecycle management

This separation keeps directional behaviour reusable across: - animation export - static sprite export - multi-angle workflows - future capture systems

The goal is reusable orientation/domain logic rather than export orchestration.

Future Candidates

  • Continue centralizing directional logic in one territory.
  • Avoid pushing export workflow orchestration into DirectionalCapture.
  • Maintain reusable orientation rules across systems.
  • Keep directional utilities workflow-agnostic where practical.
