Capture¶
Purpose¶
Owns animation-specific capture execution workflows used during animation export operations.
This territory is responsible for coordinating animation sampling and frame-by-frame preview capture while delegating low-level image generation and rendering implementation to capture/rendering systems.
Owns¶
- Animation frame capture workflows
- Animation sampling coordination during capture
- Frame iteration logic
- Animation-specific style application routing
- Animation capture execution flow
Does NOT Own¶
- Low-level rendering implementation
- Texture compositing
- File encoding/saving
- Preview scene lifecycle ownership
- Export orchestration ownership
- GIF/spritesheet assembly
- Panel UI
Allowed Dependencies¶
Capture may depend on:
- Preview capture contexts
- Animation request models
- Styling systems
- Capture abstractions
- Animation sampling helpers
Capture should avoid depending on:
- Panel orchestration
- Rendering implementation systems
- Window lifecycle systems
Notes¶
This folder exists to isolate animation-specific frame capture workflows from both: - generic capture implementation - higher-level export orchestration
Animation.Capture owns: - how animation frames are sampled and captured - how frame capture progresses through a clip - animation-specific capture coordination
Rendering/Capture systems own: - how pixels are generated - how textures are encoded/composited
Animation.Export owns: - broader export workflows - folder planning - directional export coordination - post-processing orchestration
This separation helps keep animation capture behaviour understandable without collapsing the entire export pipeline into one class.
Future Candidates¶
- Continue separating animation-specific capture behaviour from generic capture implementation.
- Avoid allowing export orchestration logic to drift into Animation.Capture.
- Maintain lightweight and focused frame-capture responsibilities.
